One Team

We value supporting each other and working together to achieve our goals.

Kurume City, and especially the Mizuma area, is proud of Mizuma Kuromatsu, a Japanese black pine used for gardens and as an ornamental plant with a history and tradition spanning more than 100 years. We aim to contribute to its perfection and share its beauty both domestically and internationally.

President's Greeting

Inheriting tradition and taking on new challenges

As I work on shaping, pruning, and growing pine trees, I feel something strongly every day:

Pine trees are deeply rooted in Japanese culture, and their appearance is both powerful and beautiful.

However, while preserving tradition, we must also incorporate new techniques and ideas...

We believe it is also important to adapt to new challenges and new environments.

Always be willing to push yourself further.

With that in mind, I trust in the knowledge passed down to me, but I am willing to think outside the box and try new ideas.

When in doubt, go for the interesting one.

There are times when you are unsure of what to do in your work or tasks.

At those times, take the plunge and jump into something that excites you, something that you find interesting.

Sometimes you may have to choose a difficult path, but I believe that this will lead to new discoveries and growth.

I would be happy if I could share what is "interesting" with everyone through the pine trees we grow.

At first, I started this job not knowing anything, but everyone, including my boss, kindly taught me, which I was very grateful for. Even if I failed, everyone was positive and told me, "It's just a matter of learning next time," so I am truly grateful for this environment where I can work happily with kind colleagues.

I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I successfully dig up a tree.

I used to work at a factory, but my boss was my friend's uncle, and that's how I got my current job.

At the time, I thought, "I absolutely hate working outside," but when I actually tried it, I found it to be surprisingly fun. At my previous factory, I always worked in the same place, but in my current job, I often have to travel far away in the winter and work in a different place every day, which makes it interesting and varied.

One of the attractions of this job is not just caring for the trees, but digging them up. Digging up large trees is particularly difficult, and can take up to two days. But I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I successfully dig up a tree. I sometimes plant the trees I've dug up and watch them carefully, worrying about whether they'll grow properly, but it's such a joyful moment when they take root.

I want to convey to new employees how exciting this job is. Of course, I don't say big things like, "Do you want to be like me?" (laughs)

But I think it's really wonderful to be able to spend quality time with my colleagues.

Every step is packed with excitement.

I used to do something completely different, but I started this job thanks to a connection with my boss.

I was a little nervous at first, but I feel a great sense of accomplishment and fulfillment when I trim the trees neatly or when I finish cutting down a large tree. What's especially fun is digging up the trees we've purchased, carrying them, and planting them. We work together, carefully bending the branches to fit the width of the trailer, and every step is packed with excitement.

I'm so close with my coworkers that we go out for drinks together after work and on weekends. Every day at the site, there's a different task waiting for me—pruning, digging up trees, wrapping roots, washing—and each one is rewarding.

The new young people jokingly call me "Grandpa" (lol), but I think the greatest appeal of this workplace is that it's a cheerful, fun place where everyone can help each other and grow together.

I found that gardening, which involves coming face to face with nature and working hard to create it, is more appealing than I had imagined.

I originally worked in electrical construction.

I was reunited with my old friend, the current president, and at his invitation, I decided to jump into a completely different field: growing and pruning pine trees and creating gardens. I was a little nervous at first, but I found that gardening, which involves coming face to face with nature and working hard to create it, was more appealing than I had imagined. It's a completely different job from electrical construction, but we have something in common in the sense that we both create something with our hands.

My workplace brings together a wide range of ages, from their 20s to 40s, and it has a warm, family-like atmosphere.

If you love plants, want to work with people, or want to try something new, we're looking for you.

Come work with us and grow while having fun.
